It’s so usual for western composers to create music for their broadway musicals and Grammy has a separate category for such albums. The flip side of having film based musical culture is that we fail to include other musical “forms” into the popular culture.

Swappnam was an operatic dance drama based on Lord Shiva, conceived and created by Krithika Subramaniam produced by Namaargam Dance Company, Sreshta and Sumanth & Co. Initially, they approached Ilaiyaraaja for few songs but after listening to the concept, Raaja obliged to do the entire score. And what we got was an amazing album.

Special track to listen : Pradeepta Rathnajowla to depict the romance of Shiva and Savithri rendered by Sharreth.
